What Is Live Virtual Care?

Real interaction.
Thoughtfully planned.

Live virtual care involves interactive sessions with clinicians, not prerecorded videos.

Altara is planning virtual participation for eligible teens. Clinical suitability, safety, location, applicable requirements, coverage, and program availability all need review.

Virtual care is an option to discuss—not a guaranteed format for every teen or program.

Preparing for Virtual Sessions

A suitable setup.
A clearer experience.

The team can explain technical and safety expectations before participation.

Reliable connection

A connection that can support live interactive sessions.

Appropriate device

A device that meets the platform’s camera, sound, and access requirements.

Private space

A suitable place to participate with as few interruptions as possible.

Agreed safety plan

A safety and emergency plan reviewed with the care team.

In-Person & Hybrid Options

Different formats.
Individual considerations.

In Person

Care in a shared space

Ask about planned in-person services, location, attendance expectations, and transportation needs. Current availability must be confirmed.

Hybrid

A combination when appropriate

Some individualized schedules may combine in-person and live virtual sessions when clinically appropriate and permitted by coverage and operational requirements.

Not every teen or program is eligible for hybrid care. Format is confirmed through assessment and program review.

After-School Options

Support beyond
the school day.

Altara is exploring after-school IOP so teens can continue school participation when feasible.

Families should review dismissal, pickup, travel time, and other commitments before choosing a schedule.

After-school hours are in preparation. Final schedules and availability require confirmation.

Daytime Options

Planning for care.
Planning for school.

Morning IOP and daytime PHP may require coordination with the teen’s school or an approved modified academic schedule.

No. Participation depends on clinical suitability, safety, location, applicable requirements, coverage, and actual program availability.

What equipment do we need?

A reliable connection and an appropriate device are needed. The team will explain the platform’s technical requirements before participation.

How does privacy work?

A suitable private space is needed. Ask about the platform, consent, confidentiality, and when information may need to be shared for safety.

Can we combine in-person and virtual sessions?

Possibly, when clinically appropriate and permitted by coverage and operational requirements. Hybrid options are not available for every teen or program.

Are after-school sessions available?

After-school IOP is being explored. Final hours and availability must be confirmed with Altara.

Will daytime care affect school?

Daytime care may overlap with school. Coordination may occur with appropriate consent, but academic services and accommodations are determined by the school.
